What Colorcast collects
Free, Creator and Pro plans. To write and speak a line, the app sends our relay the moment name (for example "kill"), the persona and preset in use, and up to a few words of context you provided (a mic callout or a custom line). The relay forwards that text to our AI providers (Anthropic for writing, Cartesia for speech) under their commercial terms, which prohibit them from training on it. We store per-account usage counts (lines, narrated seconds, renders) for metering. We do not store the text of your lines or any audio.
Studio plan. The app talks to the providers with your own API keys and sends nothing to us except a licence check.
Microphone. Mic callouts are off by default. When on, audio is transcribed on your computer and discarded. If you choose cloud recognition in Settings, short audio segments are sent to the recognition provider you select and are not retained by us.
Account. Hosted accounts are device-bound; no email is required for Free. If you subscribe, Paddle (our merchant of record) collects billing details under its own privacy policy and shares with us only what we need to activate your plan.
Telemetry. Optional and off until you agree in-app. When on, the app sends daily counts only: installs, activations, narrated minutes, features used, and upgrade prompts shown. Never transcripts, never audio, never keystrokes.
Website. We use cookie-free, privacy-preserving analytics (page views by referrer and country). No advertising trackers.
Why we process it
To provide the service (contract), to meter and bill plans (contract), to keep the service secure and fair (legitimate interest), and, with your consent, to understand feature use.
Where it lives and for how long
The relay runs on infrastructure we control in the United States. Usage counts are kept for the life of the account plus 12 months for tax records. Provider requests are transient.
Your rights
Email privacy@colorcast.live to access, export or delete your account data; deleting the account in-app removes it immediately. EU/UK residents have the rights in the GDPR; California residents have the rights in the CCPA. We do not sell personal data.
Children
Colorcast is for people 13 and older. Personas marked not family-safe are off by default.
