One second from moment to voice
Colorcast doesn't watch your screen and guess. You tell it the moment, it says something worth clipping.
Trigger
A global hotkey that works with the game focused, a Stream Deck key, a mic callout like "clutch", or a game event from Counter-Strike's game state feed.
Write
The persona writes one or two lines about that moment, in character, from a sheet you can edit. No real people, ever.
Speak
Streamed text-to-speech starts talking before the sentence is finished. Typical trigger-to-voice is about one second.
Route
Audio goes to whatever output you choose — your stream mix, a virtual cable into Discord or proximity chat — and OBS ducks your game audio under it.

Questions streamers ask first
Does it work while my game has focus?
Yes. The hotkey helper is a separate process using a low-level keyboard hook, so full-screen games don't swallow the key. It has been tested with games that block ordinary hotkeys.
Is it really one second?
Trigger to first audio is typically 0.8–1.4 seconds on the hosted plans. Lines stream as they're written and spoken, so the voice starts before the sentence ends.
Can it sound like a famous narrator?
No, on purpose. Every Colorcast voice is an original character and the app refuses persona sheets that name or imitate a real person. That protects you as much as it protects us.
Does it listen to my mic all the time?
Only if you turn mic callouts on, and then recognition runs locally on your PC. Audio never leaves your machine unless you switch to cloud recognition in Settings.
What's the difference between Creator and Studio?
Creator runs on our hosted voices and writer with nothing to configure. Studio is for people who already have Anthropic, Cartesia or ElevenLabs keys and want unlimited hours on their own accounts.
Windows says the installer is unrecognised.
